 Dr. Philip J. Weaver
Dr. Weaver attended St. Benedict’s College and then graduated from The University of Texas at Austin with a Bachelor of Arts degree in Zoology. He was awarded an M.D. from the University of Texas Medical Branch at Galveston. He had a rotating internship at Wilford Hall USAF Hospital. Military service preceded his residency training in Diagnostic Radiology at the Baylor College of Medicine Affiliated Hospitals in Houston. He has board certification by the American Board of Radiology. Throughout his career he has had extensive continuing medical education in developing radiologic practice areas such as vascular ultrasound, magnetic resonance imaging and cardio vascular studies. He has additionally pursued widespread executive studies in strategic service delivery, the management of change, quality of care, clinical performance, and informatics.
Dr. Weaver served in the United States Air Force prior to entering Radiology. Following his education at the Air Force School of Aerospace Medicine, he served as Flight Medical Officer and ultimately as Flight Surgeon in various locations, finally serving as Chief of Aerospace Medicine at Tan Son Nhut Air Base in the Republic of Vietnam where he was assigned to two combat air squadrons. He was awarded the Air Force Commendation Medal for his service excellence and performance in Vietnam . Dr. Weaver has directed a successful medical practice in Greater Houston since 1974. He was Chief of Radiology for one of Houston's largest medical centers for more than six years and was one of the founders and Chairman of Alliance Radiology Consultants. At its peak, Alliance was one of the largest radiology groups in Texas and had practice relationships with several Houston area hospitals.
