Company Info - Strategies
Virtually every aspect of healthcare organizational infrastructures, delivery approaches and the economic environment has evolved markedly in recent years. This transformation will continue to accelerate. To succeed financially, radiologic entities must strengthen their market positions, technical capabilities, continuums of care and geographic dominance. Equally important is the wisdom of diversifying corporate incomes into related services and businesses that provide additional related revenues and system economic strength.
In response to these many changes, our professional vocation is to become the dominant provider of imaging and diagnostics and related clinical and management services in the Greater Houston market. This will require aggressive business strategies. Key strategies include:
The successful establishment of a free-standing, state-of-the-art imaging center in suburban Houston. This will be achieved with our model site in Katy for future regional expansions and patient care delivery. It will offer a full array of imaging services with immediate diagnostic communications with patients and referring physicians.
Development of future Radiant sites in other strategic Houston locations. These will feature the same array of imaging services as well as other modalities including interventional and therapeutic radiology. They will be strategically located in the best sub-markets in Greater Houston.
An unwavering focus on patient care quality. The most important factor in achieving long term business success is a total commitment to patient care quality using “Gold Standards” of performance. These include state-of-the-art equipment, “cutting edge” services, duplicate readings in complex cases via teleradiology, and comprehensive reporting, discussions and recommendations to patients and referring physicians.
Facilitation of the growth of Radiant through aggressive marketing programs. This includes targeted physician activities to increase patient referrals from specialists and primary care gatekeepers, as well as media coverage and advertising to promote patient awareness of Radiant’s exceptional radiologic quality and outstanding service levels.
Joint ventures with successful imaging practices that are at the same level of quality and financial performance as Radiant. These will generally be located in choice areas of Greater Houston that are demographically desirable. We will strive to provide full radiologic coverage in the best situated areas of Greater Houston. Any physicians involved must be board certified or board eligible and will need to share a corporate cultural identity and strong business drive with the Radius Health System.
Pursuit of creative joint ventures and business arrangements with physicians who are dependent on radiologic consultation. This will include on-site equipment operations and readings, space leases, and on-line Radicall Teleradiology arrangements. These activities will be in full compliance with legal and regulatory guidelines. We will also pursue potential “health plaza” opportunities in clinical care, support services, administration, equipment and supplies as healthcare developers enter the Houston market in search of ideal locations.
Active pursuits of contracting arrangements with purchasers for exclusive coverage, capitation contracts and carveouts. The intention will be to establish as many positive relationships as possible and increase profit margins by building volumes and revenues on the bases of direct patient contacts, service quality, market strength and scopes of services.
Establishment of industry leadership in health system management. Radius will develop state-of-the-art executive services, management consulting, quality enhancements, revenue enhancements and information technology. It will also hire and retain a staff of highly trained administrative support personnel. Such actions will produce higher levels of efficiency, support contract negotiations, and lead to faster and more complete revenue enhancement management and program development initiatives.
